Borrowed Water
Borrowed Water is the inspirational life story of one young womans' journey from being a broken,
tormented teenage parent to being a successful mother, humanitarian, motivational speaker, social
worker and author. It tells of the tremendous triumphs over sexual abuse, rape, neglect, and rejection
that ultimately left her with three children at the age of 17.
Growing up poor and having to borrow water from neighbors was a daily task. In spite of the ridicule
that came from those in the neighborhood, her thirst for water overrode the painful comments. In the
same manner that she experienced physical dehydration the sting of emotional dehydration was just
as real. Her physical and emotional thirst went unquenched. Her desperation for life, nourishment
and purpose forced her to borrow her identity from the fountains of others. She gulped every hurtful
word spoken over her one drink at a time.
When others said that she'd never be anything, she took a drink. When they said that she was stupid, would always be on welfare, or was ugly, she took a drink. She borrowed the filthy, unclean, diseased water that came from the tongues of others. It left her in a state of hurt, desperation and fear. She lived her life feeling rejected and unloved.
Regardless of the pain she experienced, she hoped for a better tomorrow. She believed that she could rise above the criticism and complaints and fly high enough to see what GOD had in store for her.
She came face to face with Jesus Christ in 1994 and it was then that her life changed for the better.
He became her water source. He became the place where she found her nourishment, quenched her thirst and found her destiny.
Borrowed water is more than just a book. It's a demonstration of how the compelling love and power of God took a 17-year old mother of three and empowered her to be more than what others said and more than what she thought.
This book is a MUST READ for women of all ages. It's time to stop drinking your destiny from the fountains of others and start believing in yourself.
